Serbia, Turkey sign Plan of bilateral military cooperation for 2011

Belgrade, 27 April 2011

The Ministry of Defence stated that bilateral military and defence consultation of the line ministries of Serbia and Turkey was held yesterday in Ankara.

Head of the Directorate for International Military Cooperation of the Serbian Ministry of Defence Milorad Peric and Head of the Directorate for Strategic Planning of the Turkish Ministry of Defence Major-General Tahir Bekiroglu signed on this occasion the Plan of bilateral military cooperation for 2011.

Participants in the meeting agreed that cooperation in the field of defence between the two countries is developed and is continuously being improved. The predominant fields of cooperation are participation in joint exercises of Special Forces, military and economic cooperation and education and training. The delegation of the Serbian Ministry of Defence visited the Turkish defence industry company “Aselsan” where they saw the newest military equipment of this manufacturer.
