The government has decided to link the years of service from 1 January 2004 to 31 December 2010 for employees in companies that do business with more than 50% of the state capital, the companies that are in the process of privatisation or preparation for privatisation. It is estimated that with this move, the problem of linking years of service will be resolved for minimum 100,000 workers in Serbia.
The Decree on conditions and ways for boosting production, sale and implementation of the subsidised purchase of buses manufactured in Serbia in 2011 was adopted. The government will set aside RSD 500 million for this purpose, and natural and legal persons will be able to buy these buses with a 20% discount.
The government supported the campaign “Spring cleaning of Serbia" which is part of the action "Cleaner Serbia", implemented by the Ministry of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning. The government urges state bodies, public enterprises, institutions, especially educational ones, associations and citizens to participate in this work action which will take place on 4 June.
In the action "Cleaner Serbia" conducted in 2009, 56% of illegal dumps were removed and cities received considerable equipment for the improvement of public utilities. More than 200,000 citizens participated in a similar campaign last year.
The Serbian government adopted today the Decree allowing professional members of the Army of Serbia to freely form trade unions, in accordance with the provisions of the labour law. Under this decree, the employer, meaning the commands, units and institutions of the Serbian Army which are related to the Ministry of Defence shall provide appropriate working conditions for trade union organisations.
The government also adopted the Decision on the establishment of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism at the University of Kragujevac. The seat of the faculty will be in Vrnjacka Banja and will start its work in the academic year 2011/2012.
