Serbian Minister of Justice Zoran Stojkovic said the signing of this document represents Serbia’s significant contribution to building closer ties among South East European countries and to improvement of cooperation in the fight against cross-border crime. He said the fact that the headquarters of SEEPAG is in Belgrade is of particular importance.
The memorandum is particularly important for Serbia’s integration into Europe and cooperation between prosecutors in the fight against organised crime will make life in this part of Europe safer, said Stojkovic.
Signatories of the Memorandum were prosecutors and deputy prosecutors from 12 South East European Countries and from Turkey.
Apart from Stojkovic, also attending the ceremony were Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia-Montenegro Maurizio Massari, UK Ambassador David Gowan, and Deputy US Ambassador Roderick Moore.
