US advocates thorough, independent investigation into trafficking of human organs

President of the National Council for Cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in The Hague Rasim Ljajic presented today US Ambassador-at-Large for War Crimes Issues Stephen Rapp the activities and efforts that Serbia is taking on all the aspects of cooperation with the tribunal.
In a statement the National Council for Cooperation with the ICTY said that Ljajic and Rapp agreed that cooperation with the tribunal and the surrendering of the two remaining fugitives are of great importance for the process of dealing with the past, the rule of law and reconciliation in region.
The meeting also discussed the investigation of trafficking in human organs in Kosovo-Metohija.
Rapp said that the United States advocates the conduct of a thorough and independent investigation that would lead to establishing the full truth, for which the cooperation of all relevant institutions is necessary.
