Vojislav Kostunica
In an interview for RTS state television, the Prime Minister said that this government will be remembered by its determination to give Serbia the necessary laws to conduct judicial reforms and establish stable communications.
According to him, the support of the voters to this government was clearly confirmed on several occasions in the parliament. Most important, according to Kostunica, were the votes on budget law in March, budget revision, the new budget, and government’s reconstruction.
He said that Serbia has a clear strategy for Kosovo-Metohija, noting that the strategy is incorporated in the government’s plan for Kosovo-Metohija. Any attempt to pronounce Kosovo independent would be a slap in the face of the UN Security Council, he explained.
As for cooperation with the Hague tribunal, Kostunica said that a two-way cooperation has been established, which is proven by the voluntary surrender of General Dragomir Milosevic, and temporary releases of Jovica Stanisic and Franko Simatovic. He explained that other accused are thus stimulated to surrender.
Kostunica said that it is good for the country’s stability for the accused to surrender voluntarily, which is confirmed by the case of Croatia. The government is assured in that way that it is possible to achieve the inevitable objective of bringing the suspects to justice.
The Prime Minister expressed enthusiasm about the new constitution of Serbia, noting that it could be completed within weeks.
