Minister without Portfolio Sulejman Ugljanin is on a two-day visit to Slovenia, where he is participating in the conference "Serbia on its path to the EU: Exchange of knowledge and experience", held in Olimia near Podcetrtek.
At the conference Ugljanin spoke about possibilities for cooperation and attraction of investments and EU funds to underdeveloped municipalities in Serbia.
Along with the screening of a short documentary on underdeveloped municipalities in Serbia called "The other side of Serbia”, the Minister presented economic potentials of Serbia and opportunities for partnership between Serbia and Slovenia.
He met with European Parliament Rapporteur for Serbia Jelko Kacin and pointed out that Serbia will benefit from Slovenia’s experiences in using EU pre-accession funds.
Today the Minister also spoke with Head of the Directorate on Foreign Economic Relations of the Slovene Ministry of Economy Alfred Killer.
Killer expressed readiness for cooperation and for giving expert assistance to Serbia’s underdeveloped municipalities for applying for IPA funds.
Ugljanin will also meet in Slovenia with Deputy Speaker of the Slovenian parliament Miran Potrc and President of the Foreign Policy Committee and President of the Parliamentary Group of Friendship with Serbia Janja Klasinc.
Apart from Minister Ugljanin, the Serbian delegation on visit to Slovenia includes representatives of the underdeveloped municipalities and of the Vojvodina government.
