Results of competition for funding research projects published

The Ministry of Science and Technology announced that the final results of the competition for funding research projects for the period from 2011 to 2014 allowing the strengthening of scientific and technological capacity of Serbia through the increase in the number of researchers by about 3,300.
The Ministry stated that in the future instead of 8,300, a total of 11,615 will be engaged on the projects.
Approximately 30% of researchers will be engaged on a new programme of interdisciplinary research.
In addition to researchers from Serbia, the project will engage 1,024 scientists from abroad, and 297 scholars and 330 Foreign Ministry employees.
During the competition, which lasted until 15 July 2010, 12,315 researchers signed up for 878 projects.
Of 878 registered projects, the Ministry will fund 780, which represents 89% of all registered projects.
