The Serbian institutions have done a lot to create a legal and political environment in which everyone will have the awareness that the law must apply equally to all, reads the statement and adds that it is of particular importance that the legal provisions be consistently applied in everyday life.
The European Commission’s report on the progress of Serbia in 2010 year also looks at the improvement of situation in our country in terms of promotion and realisation of human rights.
The Ministry underlined that human rights, tolerance and the fight against discrimination and violence should be more discussed in public, in which the role of the media is particularly important, especially when it comes to an accurate and timely response.
In order to promote positive values and encourage social activism, the Ministry is organising a roundtable themed "Media and human rights - contribution to tolerance”, and it also supported the project of NGO “Zajedno, zajedno” (Together, together) called "Straight towards human rights".
