Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica and former Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and deputy in the European parliament Gianni de Michelis met today in Belgrade and concluded that prospects of the two countries’ economic cooperation are good.
Kostunica pinpointed the state union’s resolve for European integration, adding that a feasibility study should be completed by spring 2005.
De Michelis said that Italy attaches great importance to the integration of the Western Balkans to the EU and stressed that Serbia-Montenegro has Italy’s full support in its European integration.
Kostunica reiterated the difficult position of the Serb community in Kosovo-Metohija, saying that their basic human rights are violated. He stressed that application of the Serbian government’s plan for Kosovo-Metohija would provide a more peaceful life to Serbs who live in the province.
