Joint approach of European countries on climate change

Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning Oliver Dulic will attend an international conference on 11 November in Vienna at which the position of the European region will be determined before the upcoming 16th Conference of the parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
The Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning stated that the meeting in Vienna is expected to contribute to strengthening regional and international cooperation on climate change.
This meeting will be used for the exchange of experience and views on climate change, and to consider the expected outcome of the upcoming conference in Cancun.
This particularly applies to the question of commitments to reduce greenhouse effect emissions and harmonising positions of developed countries and developing countries.
The meeting in Vienna will gather representatives of the European Commission and the ministers and representatives of Slovakia, Croatia, Liechtenstein, Slovenia, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Ghana, the Maldives, Egypt, Mexico and the United Arab Emirates.
On the margins of the conference, Dulic and Austrian Federal Minister for Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management Nikolaus Berlakovich will sign a Memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of environmental protection that will allow for further development of partnership relations and realisation of concrete projects in the field of waste management, nature protection and the use of renewable energy sources.
