The Ministry of Labour and Social Policy says in a statement that at today’s meeting, Ljajic and Jaeger discussed details of the upcoming budget revision for 2010, the Ministry’s projections for 2011 and the dynamics of drafting and adopting a new social protection law.
Jaeger expressed understanding for the needs of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy regarding the revision of 2010 budget in order to ensure regular payment of all social contributions and realisation of packages of intervention measures for the socially most vulnerable categories of the population, as agreed in the previous talks with the IMF mission.
Speaking about the draft law on social protection, Ljajic said that it will be harmonised with contemporary European and international standards and voiced the hope that the Serbian government will find ways and secure funds for its adoption and full implementation, it is added in the statement.
