19 detained for violent behaviour at sports events

The Ministry of the Interior declared that since 15.00 yesterday the Gendarmerie, police officers from the police administrations in Sremska Mitrovica and Kikinda and personnel at the border crossings of Batrovci and Horgos have been monitoring Serbian football fans returning back to Serbia, who disrupted the Italy-Serbia match in Genoa two days ago and caused disorder in the city afterwards.
The statement continues that so far the police have checked 57 persons who arrived at the Horgos crossing in a bus and van.
Out of this number, eight have been detained for 48 hours on suspicion of having committed the criminal act of violent behaviour at sports events. These are Vladimir V. (23), Marko K. (26), Stefan V. (25), Stefan S. (20), Branimir S. (26), Dragan O.(25) and Jevto J. (27) from Belgrade and Marko M. (33) from Cacak.
The suspects will be taken before the magistrate at Subotica High Court, and at Horgos border crossing another 91 persons are being checked, as well as two buses in which they arrived.
At Batrovci border crossing the police have checked 317 persons who arrived in 25 cars, three vans, three buses and a minibus.
