Sutanovac and Clinton agreed that cooperation in the programmes that are very successful should be continued, such as cooperation in military education and within the programme of state partnership.
The Minister informed Clinton about the achieved level of reform in the defence system and underlined that the Ministry’s priorities for the near future are completion of army professionalisation by the end of the year, its modernisation and a greater presence in multinational operations.
He pointed out that the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Army take part in all regional security initiatives, giving full contribution to building peace and stability in the Western Balkans.
Clinton expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation reached between the Serbian Army and the Ohio National Guard and highlighted that the United States backs the continuation of reform of the defence system, whose aim is the achievement of the highest standards.
Speaking about European integration, the US Secretary of State expressed full support to Serbia on its path to the EU, reads a statement by the Ministry of Defence.
