Milosavljevic elected member of EEHC

Minister of Health Tomica Milosavljevic was unanimously elected as member of the European Environment and Health Committee (EEHC) at the 60th session of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe, taking place in Moscow.
The Ministry says in a statement that apart from Milosavljevic, health ministers from France, Malta and Slovenia have also been elected to the Committee.
The EEHC has eight ministers, four of them from the health sector and four from the environmental protection sector. It also includes the WHO Regional Director for Europe, the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Executive Secretary, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Director and a representative of the European Commission.
The board is elected for a period of two years and is a political body of the European environmental protection process.
It is also in charge of adopting strategic policies and documents and ensuring their implementation, as well as of engaging in the inclusion of other sectors involved in the implementation of environmental protection processes before the middle of 2016.
