Serbia, ICTY cooperate without impediment

The National Council for Cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) adopted decisions at its session today on the provision of the required documentation and responses to 39 requests of the Tribunal’s Prosecution and the defence lawyers of indictees.

The Council examined the current state of cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the ICTY in the submission of required documentation, access to state archives, relieving witnesses from the obligation of keeping state secrets and other technical aspects.
It was concluded that cooperation is running smoothly and that a high level of cooperation has been maintained for quite a while.
The Council and other state organs responsible for cooperation with the ICTY will continue to maintain cooperation at this level.
