Support for Serbian scientists, experts in information, communication technology

The Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Society called on scientists and researchers and experts in Serbia specialised in the field of information and communication technology to actively participate in the Seventh Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development (FP7).
This programme worth €50 billion could provide funds for various scientific and research projects, including €9.1 billion for projects in the areas of information and communication technologies.
For promoting FP7 among experts from our region the European Commission has developed a special project, Western Balkan Countries Inco-Net Support (WINS-ICT).
Minister of Telecommunications and Information Society Jasna Matic indicated the importance for scientists-researchers and specialists from Serbia who deal with information and communication technologies to participate in the FP7 programme.
She invited experts to take advantage of the support and benefits that the WINS-ICT project offers.
Matic pointed out that applications should be submitted by 31 August to the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Society.
Matic said that by the end of this year planned conferences of the European Commission include "Digital Governance", which will be held in Brussels from 27 to 29 September, and “eChallenges”, in Warsaw from 27 to 29 October.
The seventh public call for FP7 projects will be officially opened during September 2010, she outlined noting that the project will last until 18 January 2011.
In order to prepare quality applications for this public invitation, experts and scientists-researchers on 3 September 2010 may participate in the regional seminar in Zagreb, she highlighted.

The next important event within this regional programme will be held in Belgrade in the autumn, when the 3rd "Forum for Dialogue" will be organised.
