At a celebration held in the Serbian Parliament building, the President stressed that Serbia has become a factor of stability in the region with an army committed to maintaining citizens’ security, adding that this represents huge potential for further development of the state.
Minister of Defence Dragan Sutanovac also attended the celebration, along with Parliament Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, Chief of the Serbian Army General Staff Lieutenant General Miloje Miletic, representatives from the government and religious communities in Serbia, diplomats and defence envoys accredited in Serbia, as well as families of officers who completed this highest level of military training.
A total of 39 Serbian army officers completed the one year training course, as well as a Russian army officer, a Macedonian army officer and three army officers from Bosnia-Herzegovina.
During the expert military training, officers studied military strategy, attended lectures on conflict theories, international relations, foreign strategies and doctrines, international humanitarian law and civil-military relations.
Study trips abroad were also organised for officers of the 53rd class, concludes the statement by the Defence Ministry.
