Serbia grateful to China for economic, political support

Minister of Finance Diana Dragutinovic met with a Chinese delegation today and thanked them for their country’s economic and political support to Serbia.
The Ministry says in a statement that at the meeting with the Chinese delegation, led by Chinese Vice Minister of the General Administration of Customs Sun Yibiao, Dragutinovic stressed that there are no unresolved issues in cooperation between Serbia and China.
Dragutinovic underlined that China’s assistance in the supply of medicine and medical equipment, worth $17 million, which Serbia received after the bombing in 1999, was of particular importance.
The Minister announced Chinese donations to the Ministry of the Interior and the Military Medical Academy, estimated at €1.5 million.
She noted that the key issues on which Serbia and China are negotiating are the construction of the Zemun–Borca Bridge, the Kostolac thermal power plant and the procurement of equipment for non-invasive goods inspection at border crossings, which will help to increase the level of security and reduce smuggling.
The Chinese delegation thanked Serbia for its support to the Chinese candidate for director of the World Customs Union Directorate.
