Government passes decisions on rationalisation of public administration

The Serbian government adopted at its session today a Bill on stimulating the construction industry during the economic crisis, a Bill on trade and a Bill on amendments to the Law on pension and disability insurance.
The government passed decisions on rationalisation of public administration, which set an obligation on all budgetary users to adopt by September a plan of hiring workers on temporary contracts in such a way that their number does not exceed 10% of the total number of government employees on indefinite contracts.
The government organs and organisations that have not done so must immediately harmonise their job plans with the number of employees established by the government decision.
Also, as of September this year, salaries will be paid out only to permanently and temporarily hired government workers in line with the government’s acts.
The government adopted a decision of disbanding the municipal assemblies of Podujevo, Djakovica, Suva Reka, Decani, Prizren, Urosevac and Klina.
Government tasks and duties in these municipalities will be performed by municipal coordinators to be appointed by the government at its next session.
