The Ministry of the Interior stated today that the Morovic border police arrested Milos Simovic, a member of the Zemun Clan criminal group, near the Batrovci border crossing this morning. An arrest warrant was issued for Simovic in 2003 by Belgrade District Court.

According to a statement issued by the Interior Ministry, Simovic attempted to illegally cross the border between Serbia and Croatia. He was not carrying any identification documents.
After an official confirmation of his identity by the Belgrade police administration, Simovic will be handed over to the department for the enforcement of penal sanctions to serve a 30 year sentence, for the assassination of Serbian prime minister Zoran Djindjic, and a 40 year sentence for several other murders, as ruled by Belgrade District Court.
