Belgrade, 13 May 2010 –The Serbian government adopted at its session today a Bill on changes to the Law on ratification of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, with accompanying protocols.
The government also adopted a Programme for revival of large industrial centres – Nis, Zajecar, Kraljevo and Novi Pazar and devastated areas, whose level of growth is lower by half than the republic’s average.
To this end, it was agreed to move the headquarters of the Development Fund to Nis and of the National Agency for Regional Development to Zajecar.
The programme for reviving major industrial centres is designed to reduce regional differences through the revival of production, opening new factories and creating more jobs.
The government adopted a Decree on terms and conditions for attracting direct investment, which will help increase interest among potential investors.
The government also passed a Decision concerning the establishment of a budget fund for professional rehabilitation and incentives for employing people with disabilities and founded a Council for the Diaspora.
