According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Environment, Dulic will take part in the session as President of the governing council of the UN Environment Programme.
This session of the UN Sustainable Development Commission will focus on problems in the areas of transport, chemicals, waste management, mining as well as a ten year framework programme for sustainable production and consumption.
In order to establish dialogue between ministries of environment, transport, energy and sustainable production and consumption and leading UN specialised agencies, funds and programmes, several discussions and meetings will be held on the major subjects of the session.
Ministers will also approve decisions related to practical measures for carrying out established tasks relevant to sustainable development.
Special attention will be paid to obstacles and difficulties faced by certain countries and regions concerning the implementation of Agenda 21 and the plan of implementation of decisions from the World Summit on Sustainable Development held in Johannesburg.
