Government announces sale of Telekom’s shares

The Serbian government adopted at its session today a Bill confirming an agreement between Serbia and Turkey on cooperation in infrastructure projects and a Bill on waterways.
The government approved a Conclusion recommending the Board of Directors of the public enterprise PTT Srbija to transfer PTT’s shares in telecommunications company Telekom Srbija to the Republic of Serbia.
A procedure of public procurement will be launched for consulting services in the preparation and implementation process of the sale of shares owned by the Republic of Serbia in Telekom Srbija.
The government adopted a Decision on establishing a commission for the public procurement of management consulting – a choice of advisor that will offer professional help in the preparation and implementation of the procedure of the sale of part of the shares owned by the Republic of Serbia in this company.
The Ministry of Finance was authorized to carry out this procedure. The government adopted a package of subsidised dinar cash and consumer loans, with the purpose of increasing citizens’ purchase power, boosting local demand, accelerating economic growth and strengthening the domestic currency.
