Interior Ministry to take over border security as of January

The Serbian Ministry of Interior will take over border security from Serbia-Montenegrin Army border units as of January 1, 2005, in line with European Union standards and a Supreme Defence Council decision.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of Interior, the phased takeover will include certain facilities and equipment which can be useful for the border security system.
