The two officials described the meeting as useful, constructive and successful.
Solana voiced pleasure over more frequent meetings with Kostunica, which he said can only help improve cooperation between Serbia and the EU.
Kostunica expressed the hope that a feasibility study for signing the stabilisation and association agreement with the EU will be completed by spring.
The Prime Minister also called for a political solution to the current situation in Kosovo-Metohija, adding that he had a successful meeting with UNMIK head Soren Jessen-Petersen in Belgrade yesterday.
Noting that the meeting with Solana also touched on the functioning of the state union, Kostunica said that the Serbian government is due to approve a draft law on parliamentary election in Serbia-Montenegro at a session tomorrow.
