Citizens from diaspora get new passports in accelerated procedure

Belgrade, 16 January 2010

The Ministry for the Diaspora stated today that the accelerated procedure of issuing new biometric passports to Serbian citizens living abroad is an example of efficient cooperation of this Ministry and the Ministry of the Interior.

The statement reads that during the holidays many Serbian citizens living abroad are coming to Serbia and there is a greater demand for issuing new biometric passports.

This is why the Ministry for the Diaspora, together with the Ministry of the Interior, decided to issue new passports to this category of Serbian citizens in accelerated procedure, which is two to five days.

This move shows the efforts of the two ministries to fully meet the needs of Serbian citizens.
