Harsh demarche to Montenegro for establishing diplomatic relations with Pristina

Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic requested today the immediate withdrawal of Serbian Ambassador to Podgorica Zoran Lutovac to consultations in Belgrade due to decision of Montenegrin authorities to establish diplomatic relations with interim institutions of self-government in Pristina.

The Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has sent a harsh demarche to the representative of the Montenegrin government in Belgrade for this government’s decision to establish diplomatic relations with interim institutions in Pristina.
This decision undermines regional stability and complicates the establishment of best possible relations between neighbours, which is a priority of the Serbian government, reads a statement by the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
