H1N1 vaccination figures released

Serbian Public Health Institute “Dr Milan Jovanovic Batut” stated today that since the beginning of vaccinations against the influenza A virus (H1N1) 94,580 people have been vaccinated.
The greatest number of those who received vaccines (72.1%) are people with chronic diseases.
The vaccination is being carried out at 1,127 points in Serbia, and 259,780 doses of vaccine have been distributed so far.
The especially vulnerable groups that require vaccination are people with chronic diseases, pregnant women in the second and third quarters of pregnancy, health workers and employees in public and social care services.
653 cases of H1N1 have been confirmed so far in Serbia, of which 59 resulted in death.
494 persons with symptoms similar to that of H1N1 are receiving hospital treatment, of whom 23 are connected to respirators.
