The Serbian government’s official web site gives the ministers’ joint statement.
"Having fulfilled EU conditions pertaining to border controls, the fight against organised crime and corruption, improvement of foreign relations and respect of our citizens’ fundamental rights and freedoms, we confirmed the clear commitment and devotion of our states to the EU integration process.
The introduction of the visa-free regime from December 19 is a strong incentive for the Western Balkans to move even closer to the EU.
We expect that the citizens of Bosnia-Herzegovina and Albania will also obtain the EU’s support to the visa liberalisation process and in that sense we are offering them our support.
Visa abolishment has enabled our citizens to once again enjoy the same rights as other EU citizens, as well as having freedom of movement and the sense of belonging to the European family.
We hereby affirm our devotion to continue developing all forms of cooperation in the region in the spirit of good neighbourly relations, mutual respect and joint responsibility in order to provide full security for our citizens ".
