Sutanovac, Fitzgerald discuss security in Kosovo-Metohija

Minister of Defence Dragan Sutanovac today met with Commander of the NATO Joint Force Command (JFC) in Naples Admiral Mark Fitzgerald to discuss the security situation and the reduction of Kfor troops in Kosovo-Metohija and their cooperation with Serbia.

The Ministry says in a statement that Fitzgerald assured Sutanovac that regardless of the number of troops, Kfor will take care of the security of the non-ethnic Albanian population, Serbian sacred places and cultural and historical facilities in the province.
The reason for Fitzgerald’s visit to Belgrade was the transfer of duties from the head of the NATO office in Belgrade Brigadier General Miroslav Balint to Brigadier General Jan Kase from the Czech Republic.
Chief of the Serbian Army General Staff Lieutenant-General Miloje Miletic attended the ceremony at the Serbian Army Club in Topcider, along with Czech Ambassador to Belgrade Hana Hubackova and a number of high-ranking officers of the Serbian Army and NATO JFC in Naples.
Admiral Fitzgerald later met with representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a delegation of the Serbian Orthodox Church, the statement adds.
