Kostunica also pointed to the friendship that exists between Serbia-Montenegro and China.
Yangdong said that Kostunica’s visit to China in 2002, in his capacity as Yugoslav President, was of particular significance for friendly relations between the two countries and she added that a joint statement signed during that visit opened possibilities to improve cooperation in all fields.
The Serbian Prime Minister stressed that it is necessary to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries in order to preserve peace and stability in the world.
Yangdong said that China strongly supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia-Montenegro and calls for the implementation of Resolution 1244, respect of human rights in Kosovo-Metohija, and preservation of stability in the Balkans.
Kostunica and Yangdong called for stronger economic ties between the two countries, considered steps taken to achieve that goal, and agreed that the agreement between Serbia’s oil company NIS and Chinese Sinochem is one of those steps.
