The Ministry recalls that the American-Adriatic Charter was signed on May 2, 2003, in Tirana, by foreign ministers from the USA, Albania, Croatia and Macedonia, adding that in December 2008 Bosnia-Herzegovina and Montenegro also joined, while Serbia holds observer status.
The goal of the initiative is to boost regional cooperation, security and stability as preconditions for speedier EU integration, as well as to strengthen democracy and minority rights through cooperation in suppressing terrorism, cross-border crime, corruption and drug trafficking.
Minister Sutanovac will hold several bilateral meetings on the fringes of the gathering, the statement adds.
