The statement adds that the meeting was organised in cooperation with the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) with the aim of informing the representatives from associations of the missing persons’ families about the progress of the process to locate, exhume and identify the remains of victims listed as missing in Croatia.
The participants were acquainted with the progress to date and issues that have to be solved. They also discussed proposals and activities to help speed up the process of resolving this delicate and difficult humanitarian issue.
They also agreed upon concrete recommendations to step up the process, strengthen mutual trust and create a favourable political climate for carrying out all activities regarding this matter.
Present at the meeting were President of the Serbian Committee for Missing Persons Veljko Odalovic, President of the Croatian Missing Persons Commission Ivan Grujic, ICMP President Catherine Bromberger, representatives from the International Committee of the Red Cross and national Red Cross committees, the statement adds.
