In a statement the laboratory said the latest victim was a male from Pozega, who was hospitalised in intensive care in the general hospital in Uzice, where he died on November 8.
Of 254 sick people, 72 cases are connected to travel abroad.
In the period from October 26 to November 9, 109 cases of illness caused by the new type of influenza virus have been confirmed. Most patients in this period were school children.
There are 12 outbreaks of pandemic influenza reported in South Backa District, Kraljevo, Pozega, Uzice and Paracin, and epidemics amongst school staff in Cacak, Nis, Ivanjica, Prilike, Kragujevac and Leskovac, added the statement.
