14 new cases of infection by type A virus recorded

The Public Health Institute Milan Jovanovic Batut stated that 148 cases of the flu caused by the new type A virus (H1N1) have been recorded to date, adding that 14 new cases of infection occurred over the past four days.
The statement adds that the new cases were recorded in Belgrade, Cacak and Kraljevo. Most of them are schoolchildren, while 72 cases, out of the total 148, are related to travelling abroad.
Based on the determined rate of flu incidence, especially in children, flu epidemics were declared today in the Kraljevo and Cacak municipalities.
All measures have been taken to prevent and suppress the flu virus in health institutions, elementary and secondary schools and kindergartens, as envisaged in the plan of activities for the pandemic, adds the statement.
