Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica said today after meeting with a delegation from Lafarge BFC that privatisation of the Beocin cement factory was very successful, adding that the French company invested $55,000 in this factory so far.
Kostunica said that a production line that was opened earlier is state-of-the-art quality, and expressed satisfaction with the social programme and environmental preservation in the BFC factory. He also noted that Lafarge Group was the first company that took part in privatisation after the 2001 Privatisation Law was adopted.
Lafarge General Director Bernard Kasriel said that BFC is one of the most up-to-date factories worldwide, adding that Lafarge has brought great experience in production of construction materials in Serbia. He said that the French factory came to Serbia for long-term cooperation.
Lafarge wants to be the first ones in this production branch in Serbia, always taking care to respect the signed agreements, Kasriel said, adding that quality of products and environmental protection are also highly considered.
The General Director thanked the collaborators in Serbia who, with assistance of foreign experts, managed to transform the factory and improve its production.
