According to the government statement, the Interior Ministry estimated that it would be easier there to provide security to participants in the parade and other citizens, preserve public peace and order and protect property, consulates and embassies.
According to the Belgrade City Assembly, the Government Palace is considered as a place suitable for public gatherings.
The government will do all it can to secure public peace and order, protect citizens and their property and guarantee the freedoms envisaged by the Constitution.
The government commended the Interior Ministry’s activities, particularly regarding the arrest of ten people responsible for the recent attack on French citizens.
The government demanded that all violent persons be brought to justice, adding that it will continue its dialogue with citizens who believe that their rights have been jeopardized, concludes the statement.
