The statement adds that the talks between the Ministry and IMF representatives were long, substantial and constructive.
Obradovic pointed out a number of specific features of the Serbian educational system, especially the importance of education for Serbia’s further development and GDP growth.
IMF representatives said that the proposed educational measures are pretty much in line with the recommendations from international organisations’ reports on the state of education in Serbia.
They also spoke of the need to rationalise Serbia’s educational system in the sense of the optimum number of classes in each school and the number of employees in the education sector, the statement concludes.
