The National Council for Cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for former Yugoslavia (ICTY) convened today and decided to send the ICTY requested documentation to the Hague tribunal’s prosecution, as required by the court.
The statement adds that the National Council also granted a demand of the defence referring to documentation needed for the preparation of various indictees’ defences before the Hague tribunal and the release of one witness from their obligation to keep official secrets.
Two other defence requests, referring to Serbia’s guarantees for indictees that are to be temporarily released from custody, were also granted.
The National Council will hold regular sessions every other week and will respond to both prosecution and defence requests.
