Eight arrested on suspicion of robbery

The Serbian Interior Ministry stated today that following several months of investigation members of the Criminal Police arrested eight members of an organised criminal group in police actions carried out simultaneously in Belgrade, Loznica, Novi Sad and Nis.
According to the statement the group is suspected of having robbed banks, casinos and jewellery shops in Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and other countries.
Those arrested are Dalibor Macanovic alias Dado, from Sarajevo and Bojan Markovic from Zvornik, both citizens of Bosnia-Herzegovina, citizen of Bosnia-Herzegovina and Serbia Dragan Petrusic from Belgrade, Serbian citizens Dejan Stanisic alias Jazavac, Svetislav Lazic alias Cvele, Dragana Lazic from Nis, Zoran Mihailovic alias Kiza from Loznica and V.M, whose identity is under investigation.
Four members of the group were arrested early this morning while attempting a robbery at the home of a businessman in Loznica.
Three pistols, one revolver, silencers, a kilogram of plastic explosives with a detonator, hoods, surgical gloves and various other items were found during the action. The police are continuing their investigation into the case, concludes the statement.
