Member of international criminal group arrested

The Ministry of Interior today stated that the Serbian police forces, in cooperation with the SEKI Centre from Bucharest, arrested the last remaining member of an international criminal group, Fatmir Arifi, as part of an international operation aimed at uncovering the smuggling of people from Albania to EU countries.
Arifi has been in hiding since July 15 in the territory of Kosovo-Metohija. He was arrested in Belgrade in possession of €1,800 meant to be used for illegal trafficking.
Arifi has been sent before the investigative judge of the Belgrade District Court.
The head of this criminal group was Dzelal Sulejmani.
