Data Secrecy Bill adopted

The Serbian government today adopted a bill on data secrecy envisaging the setting up of a unique system for protecting secret data concerning the Serbian defence system, national and public security and internal and external affairs.
The bill also stipulates the protection of foreign secret data, access to secret data and the duration of secrecy.
A bill on the Judicial Academy, envisaging the establishment of the Judicial Academy, which will enable the professional, independent and efficient work of judges and prosecutors, was also adopted today.
The government passed bills on preschool education, student standards and the registration of agricultural property in 2011.
At today’s session the government agreed to set up a working group for monitoring employee rights during the global financial crisis.
A strategy for developing internal financial controls in the Serbian public sector has been adopted, as well as a strategy for migration management which defines elements of the country’s migration policy.
The government also approved a Decree amending the Decree on import of motor vehicles in a move designed to provide a long-term solution for the importing of second-hand motor vehicles.
Branko Djukic, editor in chief of Tanjug, has been promoted to director of the agency.
