26 cases of H1N1 confirmed in Serbia

The national reference laboratory Torlak today stated that 26 cases of A H1N1 influenza have been confirmed in Serbia so far.
According to the statement most of the patients had returned from countries where H1N1 cases had already occurred, such as Argentina, Australia, Canada, the UK and the USA, while three persons became ill after having come into contact with already infected persons.
Cases have been registered in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Sombor, Nis, Srbobran, Nova Pazova and Sabac. There are also three infected sportsmen from Australia, Argentina and Uganda, who are participating in the Universiade.
Five H1N1 cases have been recorded in Novi Sad and all of them have recently arrived from Australia.
Patients are being monitored constantly, concludes the statement.
