13 H1N1 cases confirmed in Serbia

The national reference laboratory Torlak has released statistics according to which 13 cases of A H1N1 influenza have been confirmed in Serbia up until now.
According to a statement issued by the Milan Jovanovic Batut public health institute most of the patients contracted the disease abroad.
A total of 11 patients returned from countries where H1N1 cases had occurred and two persons became ill after having coming in contact with a patient from Montenegro.
Cases have been registered in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Sombor, Nis and Srbobran and patients are being monitored constantly.
According to WHO measures, general measures of prevention include keeping distance one metre away from other people, hygiene and airing.

According to WHO, until June 29 there were officially 70,893 cases of virus H1N1 in 112 countries, 311 of which were lethal.
