Minister Jocic meets with Motorola president

Serbian Minister of Interior Dragan Jocic met today with Motorola President Mike Zafirovski and presented to Motorola's representatives a new system of identification documents which contains Motorola's biometrical system AFIS-FIIS used for quick automatic search of fingerprints and faces.
The delivery of Motorola’s state-of-the-art digital communication system TETRA is underway. Both systems, AFIS and TETRA are of extreme importance for a technological modernisation of the Serbian police.
During the meeting it was agreed that the implementation of the Agreement on strategic partnership between the Serbian Ministry of Interior and Motorola is on a very high level, especially in the field of promotion of working technology, consolidation of IT infrastructure, advanced training of personnel and transfer of technologies in data exchange.
The aim of the Agreement on strategic partnership is approaching the e-EUROPE initiative and fulfillment of preconditions for EU membership.
The collocutors agreed to further advance cooperation between the Serbian police and Motorola and to hold the next meeting at Motorola's head office.
