The Serbian Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Policy issued a statement, saying that the government set up a council for gender equality yesterday. According to the statement, the council will be tasked with preparing a national action plan for gender equality.
Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Policy Slobodan Lalovic was appointed as president of the council which will also be charged with monitoring the enforcement of antidiscrimination laws.
Dragana Petrovic, gender equality advisor to the Minister, was appointed as the council's representative in the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe.
