Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Management Sasa Dragin today signed memorandums of cooperation in agriculture with representatives from Romanian and Portuguese agriculture ministries at the 76th International Agriculture Trade Show in Novi Sad.

The Ministry says in a statement that Dragin and his Romanian counterpart Ilie Sarbu signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in agriculture which will enable Serbia to speed up its EU road through an exchange of experiences in this area.
The document envisages Serbian and Romanian engagement on the production of plants, seeds and genetic material, cattle breeding, control and registration of pesticides and rural development.
With Portuguese State Secretary of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries Luis Vieria and Dragin signed another Memorandum of Cooperation in agriculture which will enable the Serbian and Portuguese sides to cooperate in this area on the basis of mutual respect and benefit.

The two countries will cooperate on plants, fruit and vegetable production and processing, cattle breeding, exchange of genetic and biological material, pesticides, plant protection, veterinary medicine, organic food production and rural development.
At the Ministry’s stand at the trade show Dragin also met with his Slovenian counterpart, adds the statement.
