At today’s session the National Council for Cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for former Yugoslavia (ICTY) passed a decision to send documentation to the Hague tribunal’s prosecution, in line with its five requests.
Four requests from the defence, which referred to documentation needed for the preparation of indictees’ defence before the ICTY, were granted affirmative answers.
At today’s session the National Council pointed to
Serbia’s initiative to transfer those sentenced by the court to their respective countries to serve prison sentences.
The National Council concluded that Serbia is ready to accept Serbian citizens sentenced by the ICTY, is willing to provide maximum security conditions at the locations where they will serve their sentence and offers firm guarantees that those sentenced will not be released without the permission of the tribunal.
