Intensified efforts to encourage investment

Serbian Minister of Finance Diana Dragutinovic said today at a meeting with Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Miltiadis Varvitsiotis that the Finance Ministry and the Serbian government will intensify their activities to create conditions for encouraging further investment in Serbia.
According to a statement issued by the Finance Ministry Dragutinovic said that she was pleased to receive the Greek delegation, headed by Varvitsiotis, stressing that the Serbian govenrment is counting on Greek investment.
Varvitsiotis, who is responsible for international economic affairs, stressed that his main purpose in visiting Serbia is to reassure the Serbian government and the Serbian people that Greece was and will remain one of Serbia’s main partners.
He stressed that the financial sector has great potential and that Greek banks in Serbia are liquid, adding that he has conveyed to the Serbian Finance Minister suggestions made by Greek investors which could contribute to bilateral coopeation in the area of investments.
