Government adopts several bills

The Serbian government adopted at its session today the bill on amendments to the bill on agricultural land according to which a directorate for agricultural land will be established at the Ministry of Agriculture.
The directorate will be responsible for the planning, protection, regulation and use of agricultural land which will remove the shortcomings observed during the implementation of the existing law.
The bills on affirming the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the affirmation of the optional protocol to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities were also adopted. The convention aims to guarantee equal rights to disabled people.
The government also adopted a bill on affirming Convention on the Transboundary Effects of Industrial Accidents according to which signatories are obliged to help each other in the case of mishaps and to implement preventative measures and to take measures in the case of an accident.
A Decree on the distribution of incentive funds for organic produce for 2009 was passed. A Decree on the terms and conditions for using incentive funds for the production of seed material for organic produce was passed as well.
